He earned his BS in Accounting from Bloomsburg University in 1991, where he was also the starting QB. Notably, as a QB he still holds the record for the highest number of completions in a single season at the University. Alan later got his Master’s degree in taxation from Georgia State.

Alan spent 31 years in accounting and in 2023, he retired from the corporation sector as the senior tax manager for a prominent $5 billion construction company.

Beyond the financial realm, Alan made a name for himself in the world of sports officiating. Over a span of 14 years, he officiated college football games in D2 and D1. He also officiated indoor football for 11 season and officiated three championship games.

In 2016, he earned a place in the NFL. In 2021, he officiated a divisional playoff game between Buffalo and Kansas City.
